A most peculiar family company

Pros

Relatively high salaries in a low-cost-of-living area of the country. Some good benefits such as a fitness center and child care (company store, too). Great people at the managerial level. Made many great friends working here. Products are well made and positively perceived, so business is unlikely to tank anytime soon.

Cons

Senior management is consumed by sucking up to the CEO. Fisk Johnson is a poor manager and will not take advice. Always looking at other companies for innovative ideas - particularly Procter. Power concentrated in the hands of a few CEO cronies. Super passive-aggressive. Culture is not in line with "family company" image.

Thanks for your comments. We respectfully disagree with some of your conclusions, but we want to continually learn and grow as an organization, and that includes considering to all perspectives. We’ll share your thoughts with the right folks. One thing we can agree on: there are many, many great people at SCJ. We’re glad you saw that too, and sorry to hear that your overall experience here wasn’t ideal.

Pros

Strong company, talented people. People want to do the right thing. Mix of people with lot of experience combined with lots of new people

Cons

Passive aggressive culture, people afraid to speak up, location is in Wisconsin. New people don't appreciate the culture of what was historically built
