Pros

A group of wonderful friendly people. Great offices and work-life balance. Flexible hours.

Cons

Transformation has moved approvals offshore leaving a group of passionate people limited by ill defined processes. Frustrating at times and gets very political since everyone is fighting for limited resources. Large turnover due to frustrations.

Thank you for leaving a review. We know reorganization can be tough, especially when it leads to some areas having fewer roles. We hear you, and agree that investing in people is key. We’ll pass this along.

Pros

If you had a time machine, I would recommend dialling it back to the late 90's early 2000's. There are things like company store, onsite gym and cottages, but one's mental health is not a fair trade.

Cons

Incompetent management, inability to make decisions, products launched without proper support, no appetite to fire incompetent workers, management talks the talk but doesn't walk the walk (re: promotions, performance reviews), inability to be promoted unless someone quits or retires, many senior marketers incompetent, fighting amongst departmental upper management. The company is a former shell of what it used to be - if you want to work for a CPG, you are best working for those in the GTA; what made this company special is long gone and SCJ is no different or worse than other CPGs.

Thank you for writing. It’s tough to hear how disappointed you are with the company. It’s true that the SCJ of today is different from the SCJ of 10 or 20 years ago. But we respectfully disagree that all the changes have been bad. In fact, many are designed to help us become stronger than we’ve ever been. We certainly aren’t perfect, and we’ve had some bumps in the road. But we still believe SCJ has a great heart and a lot of incredibly talented and committed people. We hope that if you choose to stay with SCJ, you’ll help us keep improving and growing every day.
