Pros

Telecommuting, flex-scheduling, summer hours, vacation buy-back

Cons

"type-casting"...once you excel at something it's near impossible to break out of that role Management does little to hold people accountable. They just let people slide because they have worked there a long time.

Pros

-great work life balance (telcommuting, summer hours, sabbatical program, etc) -Opportunities for career advancement - you manage your own career and it's important to be recognized as a high performer, build relationships, and assert yourself. If you do this, there are great opportunities -good perks for employees

Cons

-location (Racine, WI) - you may want to live in Milwaukee or Chicago, in which case you'll have a minimum of 45 minute commute -risk-averse culture (this is getting better, but there is a long way to go) -salaries are average, bonus structure is less than competitive

Pros

Stable well known brands make up this company's core portfolio. They are privately held. Convenient location for those in south eastern Wisconsin. Flexible hours and okay pay for this area. The daycare is pricey but the services they provide are a life saver to working parents.

Cons

Currently going through downsizing and 300+ people will be let go in Racine alone. Headquarters are located in a city with the highest unemployment rate in Wisconsin. Benefits are being sacrificed to save money. Employees used to be valued but this mindset has changed dramatically in the past 10 months. It is not about what you know but who you know. It is no longer the family company of their tagline. The mighty dollar is more important than employees and the community. Right now the company is in disorganization.
