Pros

There are many avenues you can explore to advance your career, and I'm happy with the growth I’ve experienced here. I lead a competent and hardworking team, and even though I work remotely, they communicate and follow instructions well. The salary reflects my experience and qualifications. The company offers retirement and wellness benefits and even tuition reimbursement.

Cons

I don’t see any downsides to working here.

Pros

Everybody goes through rigorous training before getting on the job.

Cons

The job is extremely stressful, and employees are not even allowed to take holidays. PTO is practically meaningless because management refuses to approve sick days. Employees are forced to see the company doctor just to prove illness before a day off is granted, which is excessive, demeaning, and completely unreasonable.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. However, some of the information in your review is inaccurate and does not reflect SCAN’s policies and procedures. For example, SCAN does not have a company doctor. We are committed to supporting employee well-being and creating an environment where team members can thrive both professionally and personally. In addition to generous paid time off and sick leave, we offer Recharge Days to give employees time to rest and reset. These efforts have helped SCAN earn recognition from Fortune as one of the 100 Best Companies to Work For and achieve a 91% Great Place to Work rating. As you are no longer with SCAN, we wish you success in your future endeavors.

Meaningful mission derailed by poor leadership that should know better.

Pros

It's difficult to think about the pro's unfortunately. The mission is the usual draw, and people geniunely join to support and get behind supporting seniors. What happens with leadership unfortunately quickly derails and devalues the mission.

Cons

It has to be said, they play with people's lives. Hire you and within weeks they are already looking for someone who could be perceived to be better so planning your exit with your replacement lined up. It's not a one off, and not by just one team. Politics, and the opinion of just one person is the only thing that runs this company. It's a real shame as people truly do want to serve and do good work.

We are sorry to hear about your experience. While each employee’s perspective is unique, the environment you described is not consistent with the culture our leadership is committed to fostering. We work to create a workplace where employees feel respected and comfortable sharing ideas, feedback, and concerns with both their managers and leadership. Our multiple workplace recognitions, including Great Place to Work and Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For, are based on direct feedback from employees across our organization, and we take that feedback seriously. As we continue to grow and expand our mission to serve more vulnerable populations nationwide, we recognize that growth can bring change. Throughout this process, our leadership team has remained committed to transparency, accessibility, and open communication with employees. While we regret that your experience did not meet your expectations, we appreciate the contributions you made during your time with SCAN and wish you continued success in the future.
