Pros

Excellent training and interesting assignments. All the attorneys seem happy. Never an expectation to work late or stretch yourself too thin.

Cons

Sometimes assignments can come slowly depending on the pace of workflow. Also things can occasionally move incredibly slow, but it's the government so it's expected.

Good health benefit options, student loan repayment program, work/life balance (telecommuting options), transportation subsidy

Cons

Limited room for advancement due to "lifers" -you must have a plan and work the plan but understand that there are politics involved.
