Pros

Truly collegial work environment, engaging work assignments, supportive and bright supervisors who enjoy what they do and teaching interns

Cons

The SEC wasn't hiring at the time, but about ten months later they were. Unfortunately, I was left in a black hole because I didn't qualify for a position because I had since graduated from law school but wasn't a judicial clerk.

Contractor Discrimination

Pros

It's a job, and the building is fairly new.

Cons

Too many poor 8a companies used with the contractor having no say or evaluation of 8a companies brought in and saddled with. Two sets of "ethics"used; one for federal employees, another lesser exclusionary versions for contractors. Federal worker stereotype rampant here. Bureaucratic to the max with too many unqualified decision makers.
