Pros

Great experience for new graduates who want to get some work experience. Opportunity to move between departments and gain a wide range of skills.

Cons

Nepotistic, especially at the Advanced Mineralogy Lab. Poor management, pay scale was not on par with industry averages. Unless you have a university and/or a masters degree you will be stuck doing general labor in poor conditions. Health and Safety reps listen to supervisors instead of people who are actually working in the area, Labs handling materials that they aren't registered for ( >85msv NORM materials) short cuts taken.
