Pros

Tuition forgiveness, 37.5 hour work week, Starbucks on campus.

Cons

The worst most toxic place I have ever worked at. Please do not work in the financial aid department. Also be warned if you have any accommodation needs that the accommodation office will fight with you to get the bare minimum. If you go to the EOA office for help they will gaslight you and tell you it’s your fault and that you could get fired for being “too much” and if you ask HR for help they will gang up on you to get you fired or make your life so miserable you quit. Do not work here if you are someone who won’t put up with toxic management or business systems.

Pros

Flexible -- supervisor works GA schedule (when you teach classes) around your class/other job schedule the best they can // while some protocols/rules must be kept in the syllabus for all elective activity classes, you overall design the class and assignments how you want to Fun and rewarding -- you'll be assigned a mix of teaching elective fitness/strength-based classes, assisting exercise science classes as a TA, working in the exercise physiology lab conducting health & fitness clinic testing Wonderful way to gain personal training experience (practice improving students' form, demonstrating exercises) and to better your communication and teaching skills Monthly stipend + pays for tuition

Cons

Some TA classes have more grading than others, but honestly no cons from my perspective for this role.

Pros

Free tuition immediately Nice coworkers

Cons

Extremely heavy workloads due to constant turnover & top heavy org chart leaving few to do to the actual work. Very low pay & annual increases do not keep up with cost of living or benefit cost increases. Duties are spread far and wide with little resources. Administration more concerned with how we are perceived than fixing the issues.
