Pros

If you like building computers and or working with your hands and wiring, it's not a bad place to work for. The people I worked with were actually great people and fun to work with. I'll miss hanging out and chatting with them.

Cons

SJE management is terrible. Being a minute late for work is no different than not showing up at all. It's treated the same way. Employees can't take days off ahead of time unless there is PTO to do it. They do not allow non-paid days off, even throwing fits about people with military leave. They will not work with employees in certain situations based off of home life situations. We're not talking no babysitter type stuff; we're talking potentially life-threatening situations. Employees are nothing but a number here and they do nothing to increase employee morale. Some of the supervisors are very unprofessional. Raised voices in threatening manners, talking down to employees if a mistake is made or if an employee does not see eye to eye with a new idea. If employees call in even one day, they are assumed to be a liar and they are on employees as soon as they return to work which makes it extremely uncomfortable to continue working. They have tried to limit the employee's ability to get up to walk around to grab something they may need by introducing a new position to improve work efficiency. SJE demands perfection, respect and loyalty, but shows little care for employee happiness and morale and do nothing to earn the respect of its employees. Employees have had covid as of recently and were out for a few days. Upon returning to work lude comments had been made by supervisors insinuating lies and deceit despite proof of positive results. The work is easy, dealing with the drama and unprofessional management and sweeping changes being made daily to this place is ridiculous. It's a complete dumpster fire and is highly suggested to wait to apply here until they know what they are doing, or they have their stuff together. Right now, would be the worst time to apply as they have had probably more than 20 people quit in the last month. They run constant over-time and tell the employees if they are caught up, they will no longer have to work it, then immediately go back on their word to catch up to meet sales figures regardless of whether or not you are ahead on orders.

Pros

The work itself is not difficult.

Cons

Too much overtime and working on Saturdays all summer long. Very negative & dysfunctional work environment, management plays favorites with pay & advancements.

Thank you for the overtime hours you worked while you were here. As a growing company, we have to balance our goals with our current resources, so we may need our employee owners to pitch in extra when we are going through a busy period. It is not our intent for people to work weekends consistently, and we've hired over 50 employee owners and changed the schedule recently to help. Wishing you luck on your future endeavors.

Pros

Excellent industry to work in, very laid back compared to standard assembly line type of work.

Cons

The equity firm that purchased this company in 2021 has made changes that have greatly disrupted the company's normal business model and increased problems within supply chain which they were targeting specifically to try to fix. New management was brought in to make changes that employees were told at the beginning of the acquisition would not happen and employee morale is at an all time low as these company rules have changed among other operations that didn't seem to be an issue to employees in the past. It was a great company to work for but currently is undergoing so many changes that it is making tenured employees feel greatly underappreciated. Employees at the location I worked for have been on mandatory 45-50 hour weeks for going on a year and a half. Overtime is no longer an option but a mandate.
