Pros

Large company so you have room to grow and develop. Possible to change career paths within the same company.

Cons

You are just a number. More bad managers than good managers, but due to the size and reputation of the company as a whole, it’ll probably stay afloat. Company has a high turnover rate because of poor lower level management which makes the problem worse, since there is never anyone to replace those managers, and eventually they become your coworkers. You’ll get the usually racism, misogyny, and all of that that you see everywhere else in the oilfield, but they do make an effort to support the women in the company.

Pros

shop work is okay and not difficult. also a more clear and consistent schedule

Cons

Have to start as a field engineer which has horrible pay for the amount of hours you work. All of your coworkers will be making hourly pay and you’ll make salary pay (but overall about a 30k difference per year). Inconsistent and long schedule. Ask you to work on your days off. You’re unreliable if you don’t want to work on your days off.
