Pros

Schlumberger has great benefits and they allow you to travel and move to different countries. It's a truly international company.

Cons

In the focus of their software division (formerly SIS), they focus on engineering and churning out software as opposed to having their focus on customer use and user experience. It's virtually impossible to have direct contact with clients so it makes it very hard to conduct user interviews. UX and design thinking is also not considered something that should drive product as it's an engineering company, they still go with what they know. Don't work here if you are in UX and want to conduct normal design research with client and user feedback.

Pros

Challenging environment; Operations all over the world; Good benefits for mobile staff.

Cons

Financial hardship is turning to employees; Oil industry is not as strong as it was 10y ago. Don't expect anything comparable to Tech.
