Pros

Get to play with the latest and greatest technology when your project funds allow it. Good work/life balance.

Cons

Budgetary constraints limit progress. Some people are promoted based on ethnicity/ nationality and/ or gender alone. This creates hostility and slows projects down due to having individuals in positions that do not belong there.

Pros

If you have no ambition in life; looking to work for 15years with the same company; If you are satisfied with doing the same thing over and over again; If you have no plans to further your education or get your professional certification; If you don't have a mind of your own; If you only know how to say YES!; Then this is the right place for you.

Cons

If you show any sign that you want to grow and develop yourself, technically or professionally; or you are aspiring to become a manager someday, you will be labelled as over ambitious, then they will cook up allegations against you, set you up and fire you........even if the allegation is ridiculous. Managers do not like to work with other people whom are intelligent. They want to be the one that shine in front of management. Also, if you are a minority, especially if you are from the Motherland, you are most likely never going to grow beyond the low level position for which you were hired.

Pros

The experience you will gain working for Schlumberger is the best that you can get in the industry. The salary is very nice. The people that you work with are great.

Cons

The first 3 years working as a field engineer involve the vast majority of your time. If you want to have a social life outside of work, you may want to view your other options.
