Cons

POOR MANAGEMENT, No support for Higher Education, Empty Promises, Inadequate HR team, Top down reviews only allows for poor management to stay in place, NO BONUSES, Work like a modern day slave; always working on holidays, unable to roll over vacation days to next year, honestly just plain HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT creates a negative vibe throughout the HUB.

Stay Away From Schlumberger

Pros

Large company with name recognition. Work experience at SLB can look good on a resume.

Cons

1. The company is too large and out of touch. Most of the "transformation initiatives" or whatever flavor of the month improvement they were trying to push was always a joke and added zero value to the organization. If you were to go to an SLB center and walk up to employees and ask them about whatever the next "think new act new" transformation was about, no one would be able to tell you because no one knew what it was and didn't care. 2. This company is a machine that will chew you up and spit you out. You are absolutely just a number to them. They will lay you off at the drop of a hat. If you wind up working for SLB, get a few years under your belt then get out while you can. 3. Management is mostly incompetent, and they know it. Anything a manager ever does is directly related to their bonus objectives. It doesn't get any easier than predicting what a manager will do, just take a look at their performance objectives. 4. HR reps actively work against employees. They protect the company, that's it. You will not get any help from them. If you need help, they will just tell you to put in an HR ticket. Employees that complain to HR about harassment or employees that are whistle blowers are immediately blacklisted. HR is not your friend at this company, they are your enemy. 5. SLB actively seeks to compensate employees as little as possible. They are currently losing a lot of good employees because they haven't given out raises in years and employees are taking their talents elsewhere. Schlumberger doesn't care. They are the Walmart of oilfield service companies. It's a revolving door of young ambitious employees entering and burned out, frustrated abused employees leaving. There is no future with this company unless you want to be miserable for the rest of your life.
