      Pros

      Clear career path if you want to be a manager, if not it's less clear cut. Plenty of training, up-to-date equipment.

      Cons

      Contracts very dependent on economy, in Indonesia Schlumberger is considered premium services so not all the segments are doing well.

      Pros

      For me, the best part of Schlumberger is Diversity: there are unlimited chances to work with people from different countries, different cultrure background. This is really interesting! By the way, Work/Life balance is also good. Longer annual leave than most of the other companies.

      Cons

      Some management rules related to Oilfield Service are not suitable in a Software R&D center. The process and standard of promoting a Software Engineer are still needed to be improved. Some people with poor technique skills get promoted while some really good developers cannot. Sometimes, it is not important how much you know, but how much you show.
