Pros

Schlumberger pays well, it is a good place to work especially if you are new to the oilfield. It helps you harness your communication and technical skills as you deal with the client on many occasions

Cons

You have to relocate when your term in a specific location is over. This can be exciting and also serve as a disadvantage (depending on which location you are asked to go to )

Pros

Great if you love to travel. You get to go to a different country at least every couple of years. Good pay too when you work internationally. If you like your location, you'll have an amazing time. Good opportunities to advance if you are a hard worker.

Cons

Low home country pay, but still too much working. Absolutely no work/life balance. If you dislike your location, you will have the worst time. No opportunity to put down roots because you get transferred just as you are about to, so all you'll get to know is your coworkers. No real transferable skills gained as a Field Engineer.
