Pros

Alaska has some excellent people to work with. Experience the best technology D&M has and accordingly get paid higher than other US land employees. They'll hire you without any petroleum experience or education - good foot in the door. The job itself is engaging and satisfying.

Cons

Little work/life balance -work, work, work. New management restructuring puts a lot of pressure on field employees. Field Management changes every 2-3 years, so it is difficult to develop rapport with your supervisor.
