Pros

Cultural diversity of the organization is unparalleled. Exciting, dynamic, never boring, opportunity for continuous challenge based on your performance. Opportunity to experience working in a global environment and work with technology. Incredibly interesting, smart people to work with. The people who work for Schlumberger make it a great place to work. As someone else said - it's a career not a job.

Cons

Like any large company, the politics can be challenging at times. It's a hard driving performance oriented company and as a result, work/life balance and focus on employees suffer as a result. It's a career not a job and the environment either fits you or it doesn't - there is no in between.

Pros

A truly diverse workforce and exposure to varied opportunities. I've worked all over the world, and my perspective about people and myself has changed because of those experiences. In Slb we work work hard and with that there comes a feeling of pride. For me, I am consistently challenged. I excel at something and am then given the opportunity to try something else, possibly that I have never done before.

Cons

I've worked at Slb for 9 years now and the issue for me is related to the downside of a company that offers varied opportunities. Sometimes I get moved to a new job before I feel like I've had an impact in the last role. That can be frustrating. It also has the regular downsides of working for a big company compared to a small company.

Pros

There is a company culture unlike any other. We are one, united team, and yet the members of the team are from drastically different cultures, backgrounds, etc. I meet new people and learn new things every single day.

Cons

It is very large and the enormity can be daunting upon first joining the company. There are, however, several media for learning the subjects and skills it takes to get caught up and to succeed.
