Pros

Seattle office has a great number of intelligent, hard-working, friendly people. Good salaries. Typical free soda, coffee and Costco snacks.

Cons

The folks in the Calgary Headquarters were difficult to work with. There seemed to be some passive-aggressive behavior as the Calgary folks didn't seem to want to work with the newly opened Seattle office staff. Communication was challenging. Teams were constantly being changed around as the direction and focus of upper management shifted. Health insurance plan is not great.

Corporate Is in Calgary and might as well be on Mars. Not very aware of the field situation, but getting better.

Pros

The technology was a game changer, which positively impacted millions of kids throughout the world. SMART had great technology and great people that was focused on placing valued solutions in classrooms all over the globe.

Cons

As SMART grew at a very rapid pace, new hires were brought in, with lower pay scales. Most knew nothing, nor had experience with the market, product development or the sales channel. Quality, delivery, support and vision suffered. Management was out of touch with customers, the market, resellers and our own people.
