      Pros

      There is one pro, that's money. However after your union dues and absolutely abysmal insurance are dedicated, it sounds better than it actually is.

      Cons

      Everything. Working 3 Saturdays a month or 12 days straight every other week. Staying on an off shift for 10+ years before a 1st shift opportunity. Terrible management. Terrible HR, very slow to respond to calls/emails. The work is dangerous and management doesn't care for safety.

      New and unique challenges. Lots of hands on experience.

      Cons

      Occasionally have to do routine maintenance around facility.

      People, well most of them. I enjoyed working in my department and across the plant.

      Cons

      It is union so you can't get raises based on merit or quality. Again, it is union.
