Management! What's wrong with this company is management and management drives company culture. Mid-level management is condescending, disrespectful and just plan nasty. It's the norm for this company because long-term managers have been allowed to get away with it for so long. There needs to be focus on rooting out these employees and making a change at this level. Diversity and Inclusion - they have the nice charts laid out goal and talking points, management training etc. but when will D&I efforts really began to show itself in hiring practices, promotions and change of company culture. Studies have shown where companies have implemented D&I during the pandemic and it's just been "lip service" to say there is D&I in the company. Right now that's exactly what D&I is at SPX, "lip service." Until the average employee is impacted by D&I initiatives, all efforts are futile. Promotion Opportunities - Very slim opportunities for promotion. My co-worker has been with the company prior to spin and only recently had an opportunity for promotion. Which from my understanding was only considered because of continued request while watching others with less experience, less time with the company be promoted again and again. Very discouraging all the while dealing with a long-term micromanager of the company! If it was this difficult for my coworker to be promoted, I know there is no opportunity for growth and promotion for me and other colleagues. Bonuses - Practically non-existent unless your in management. Management is very well rewarded whether the company is doing well or not. Spread those bonuses to subordinates and see turnover and employee satisfaction improve. Equally share the success of the company. HR will see this review and discredit it as an outlier from a disgruntled employee instead accepting it as an honest employee experience. SPX could be such a great place to work, just listen to your employees.
