Pros

* Free snacks and ping pong to make up for having no actual benefits for most * Coworkers * Experience to help you get a job that pays double with actual benefits

Cons

* Everyone hates the pod system except the CEO. Everyone knows it too. Favored employees get to use the computer more or even all day. They also get to sit next to experienced "onsite" people that train them. * Bad learning environment... some people get a lot more training than others * Dress code is business casual. Favored employees get to wear casual. * Favoritism and nepotism. Everything seems to be based on how liked you, especially by the CEO * No benefits for new people for a long time...unless you count snacks and a ping pong table * Parking sucks * Youll feel like you might be fired at any time...because you might. They just fired the entire sysadmin team with no notice after they completed a big project and then replaced them with a highly underpaid person with almost no experience. They also just fired the manager that everyone liked because she fought for the employees. * Even people who go onsite dont make much money, but the company charges a lot for them...as in more than double. * CEO rules by fear, manipulation, intimidation... sucks at management and leadership

Not a bad stepping stone

Pros

-Coworkers here are great, usually college graduates or otherwise. They'll keep you sane! -It's a great stepping stone. If you ever go onsite at a client, you'll be able to develop your professional network and learn a thing or two about other technologies from different industries. Make the most of your time at the company to network with other coworkers and learn some new skills on your own time.

Cons

-Low pay. First and foremost, there's a very good reason for this: you need very little experience to no experience. If you can understand that 1) you are completely expendable and 2) the job is meant to be a stepping stone towards other career opportunities, then the low pay shouldn't be a problem. -Promotions and going onsite at a client are not always guaranteed. They depend on how well the company is doing and whether or not clients have business. This is the nature of the contracting business. Other than for a few company veterans, it is EXTREMELY unlikely that any new hire is going to want to stay at the company for very long. -Dress code is business casual...for a non-client facing role if you are at the Center of Excellence. Makes no sense although it is meant for you to get used to dressing like that when you go onsite. Funny thing is at some of the more casual business partners, you can wear whatever you want anyway and no one's gonna bat an eye.
