      Enjoyed my time with SRP

      Pros

      The people were great, good benefits, and they are good to their employees. I really enjoyed the time I spent with SRP and would welcome a permanant position with them.

      Cons

      It only thing I didn't enjoy was the town the plant was near (St. Johns, AZ). There isn't too much to do up there if you are a city slicker like me.

      Pros

      You can feel valued here. There are opportunities to shine, and most managers want to see you succeed. There's still a pension, combined with partial 401k matching.

      Cons

      The industry as a whole is slow-moving. There aren't too many opportunities to climb the career ladder with much speed; it's a slow, steady path that tends to offer opportunities for advancement. While that works for the purposes of the organization, you'll see some top performers going elsewhere.

      Pros

      Lots of opportunity to grow and learn new skills. A lot of employee development opportunities and training.

      Cons

      There's the waiting to retire mentality, where people become unmotivated and just get by. There was a lot of upper management change that affected some people, but for the most part it was handled ok. It's a utility. By nature, that makes it a pretty boring place to work.
