Pros

Excellent salaries, pension plans still offered, paid sick leave and vacation accrue separately, vacation rolls over for two years max.

Cons

It can be difficult to move to higher positions as they are very limited and dependent on the advancement of others out of the position.

Pros

Great way to learn about the company as a whole as well as much needed experience. Great culture to work for where the employees happiness is always at the top of the mission. Great customer service.

Cons

Salary Structure is the only downside, can easily max out on the technical side.

Steady work but requires lots of education

Pros

You can rely on a steady job, power company is not going anywhere so chances of layoffs due to restructuring are minimal.

Cons

They are HEAVY on degrees. To be a team lead, you require a Masters Degree. Compared to many other companies, this is not required. If you want to pursue higher level positions, you need to be prepared to fork out some bucks for school. It is VERY hard to move around within the company. You need to be a relative or a "good ol' boy" to get anywhere. Saw many people leave because of this - including myself. Got the same salary, with less education somewhere else. More education DOES NOT mean you are better at your job!
