Pros

-Pay for management can be lucrative when taking bonuses into account. -It's an old school company absent of politically correct culture or crazy HR rules, which is nice. -Plenty of opportunities for fun company functions if you're into that. -For recent college grads, it will expose you to tons of business concepts and develop your acumen above that of many of your peers. You'll have the scars to prove it, but the experience gained is vast. -It will teach you how to manage stress better than most. -Though every company has bad eggs, there are tons of genuinely good people who work for SRS. -Benefits are okay.

Cons

-Your customers are roofers running sometimes multi-million-dollar businesses that don’t even have GED’s. They lack knowledge of how distribution works. This means impossible demands are placed on branches due to their lack of organization. Even if they knew they wouldn’t care. They have their own businesses to run. -Your price and service levels will never be good enough. This is exacerbated by TM’s demands (the sales force) to really no fault of their own. The way the company is structured makes goals of the TM’s and operations almost diametrically opposed. -There’s always someone with a “good idea” at corporate trying to implement another complex process that should help branches in theory. In reality, it’s the corporate structure gaining too much fat and people needing to generate arbitrary reports to justify their existence. And you better pay attention to them. -60+ hour work weeks. The company has a machismo culture about hours worked, but not efficiency. Everything at the branches can be done in 6 hours, but it always takes 12 because they're poorly managed or you're waiting on something from corporate. -Managers do everyone's jobs at the branch and the workload is overwhelming. When addressing this, you're told your delegation skills or personnel are poor. Yet, budgets are so tight branches are perpetually understaffed and quality people aren't attracted because the pay is low for hourly employees. -Safety is encouraged, while knowing roof loaders aren’t tying off because to do so would mean they aren’t meeting productivity goals. Thus, the buck is passed down to the lowest level employees. -Unethical behavior is brushed under the rug due to nepotism. -Keeping your nose to the grindstone and letting results speak for themselves isn't enough for upward mobility. You have to know the right people. This is a good ole boy system through and through. -Turnover is high across all positions. -If this review seems biased, take a survey of who is divorced or has a substance abuse problem (more for TM’s) at any of the branches. Where there's smoke, there's fire.

Pros

None, you can work and be dedicated but after 33 1/2 years with a company. They said they were going in a different direction, liars hired someone within a month of dismissing me. I worked hard & dedicated myself to this acquisition only to be tossed in the garbage like trash!!

Cons

Ruthless people, they say they are all about family, but what they are really all about is money, money and more money! Way to many Chiefs and not enough Indians. They will & can ruin your life in a minutes notice. Really hard to find another job when your female and over 55 years old.

Pros

Great opportunity to learn all aspects of how a business works. Awesome people / training program. They really enjoy working hard and playing hard. Good pay and a lot of room for advancement within the company at a young age

Cons

Must be able to relocate. Learning the roofing industry can be tough at first but it doesn't take too long to figure it out
