Pros

The children can be very sweet. There’s flexibility in terms of curriculum. It’s entry level so if you’re desperate, you can do it. Decent for college students.

Cons

Prepare to have no supplies unless you beg for them (and even when you beg, you still might end up with nothing). There are no breaks and if you need to go to the bathroom, you will just have to hold it. Upper management feels very highly about themselves and talks down to the teachers. Once you start, you will find out that almost everyone wants to leave STAR. Staff complaints are not followed up on. Supervisors don’t care about their jobs and the students are not given the quality they deserve. They will leave early and leave the responsibility to the teachers. No room for advancement/raises.

Ok for part time teacher

Pros

Students, families, schools, and teachers. The best part is definitely the kids and co-teachers (as long as you work with helpful co-teachers and they don’t quit because that happens a lot) The families are great too.

Cons

Administration is a disaster. Everyone at the office seems miserable and makes you feel uncomfortable. Don’t bother speaking to a higher up about any concerns either. The higher up you go the more heartless they seem to be.

Pros

It's nice because you get to design your own classes. It's a good experience to have under your belt if you want to get into education.

Cons

Negative atmosphere. Not compensated well. Borders on creepy and cult-like. They have required "volunteer" hours that you need to do, so that's interesting. They don't respect your time. This is especially bad for part-time employee who have other commitments.
