      Pros and Cons at Sabre

      Pros

      Sabre has great benefits and pays well, though not top tier. There are a lot of opportunities to try new projects in different areas of the company.

      Cons

      The company feels somewhat like working at the post office. Meetings that result in no decisions are far too commonplace. The company is overrun with 20+ year veterans who are only staying around to retire. They have a tendency to drag the company down.

      Pros

      There is a covered parking lot attached to the building. That's pretty much it.

      Cons

      This is the most toxic work environment I have ever seen. Management is essentially taught to discount younger staff and distrust everything. There is no constructive feedback or coaching. People are berated in front if entire deparments and it's expected that all managers will follow suit. I was actually asked at one point to call an associate and tell her she had committed a "fireable" offense by failing to make herself available for two days on an out of country vacation. I can't describe the level of dysfunction at this company.

      Employee with more than a decade, sees sad future

      Pros

      It has been a good company, surviving and even thriving through the down turn with a CEO that saw the value in his employees and understood his people.

      Cons

      That CEO retired. Now we have a new one who thinks he's Steve Jobs, intent on IPO, with a new management team that just listens to consultants rather than trying to understand the business.
