Pros

Good benefits and ability to move within different departments of the store.

Cons

Hours can either be too much or too little. Schedule is very random. One day you're opening, the next you close. Takes a while to get a raise. Secret shoppers are annoying.

Cons

Having to belong to a union, and still getting paid min. wage (four years at min. wage). Employees are undervalued and looked over for promotions in favor of younger inexperienced employees. With new store, manager has no time for employees. Very curt.

Pros

Health benefits are good. Better in retail, and you would have Union to protect the retail workers. Once moving backstage/corporate it's a whole different story.

Cons

Management is very poor, lots of them micromanage. Growth is minimal and salary is low. Raises are very minimal and when given it's not even a raise. Too many levels of upper management, and you need to phase away the poor management and methodology. HR doesn't protect their employees, they sound like they do when you have issues. Ultimately management and HR work together to get rid of employees. SMH. Spent over 10 years here working retail then moving to corporate, a complete waste of time. They dont appreciate what you do for the company.
