Departments do not collaborate as have different goals so senior engineers try to lead engineer, project manage, raise orders, fight for resource, work night and day until you collapse from over work or are sensible enough to leave before hand. Management do not take technical decisions to avoid accountability. A engineer took his life who worked @ Pitstone due to work stress. Clean desk policy taken to the extreme - get marked down if u are found to have more than one personal item on your desk. You will spend most of your time reporting progress , up dating plans rather than engineering a solution. The best engineers have left.
