We appreciate your feedback and have read through your comments. Please note that our hybrid working approach is an important element of the way we work at Sage that is complemented by other benefits such as paid time to volunteer, the ability to work away for up to 10 weeks a year and free well-being support tools. We recently also answered several colleagues' questions about the new 3-day policy. If you've not seen this communication on our internal intranet site, it sheds more light on how colleagues will be supported as they adhere to our updated hybrid structure. More information about what we offer can be found here https://www.glassdoor.co.uk/Benefits/Sage-United-Kingdom-Benefits-EI_IE1150.0,4_IL.5,19_IN2.htm - Thanks for taking the time to leave your review. We’ll continue to work hard to improve how we enable colleagues to thrive.

Pros

Good PTO package compared to some US based companies. Benefits are decent.

Cons

Projects consistently have unrealistic timelines and expectations. This leads to an absence of work/life balance throughout the organization. There is a toxic “hustle culture” and I think they will have a lot of trouble recruiting and retaining the next generation of workers who reject this mindset and want a life outside of work. If you aren’t working crazy hours, you’ll be perceived as not working hard enough. If you aren’t double and triple booked with meetings, you’re not engaged. This company normalizes unhealthy behavior and in my experience, it was expected that you would work at all hours of the day to attempt to meet leaderships’ expectations. There are layoffs annually but they have gotten larger since COVID. If my math is correct, they laid off almost 10% of their workforce globally last November and called it an “investment in the future.” If you’ve seen other reviewers mention that our feedback is solicited often, it’s true. We were reminded that we are “allowed” to submit a Glassdoor review every couple of months. They say they want honest feedback, but there’s a response after each negative review encouraging employees to talk to their manager or submit feedback through the anonymous survey. I shared my feedback multiple times with my manager and responded to each survey. I also shared very honest feedback with, and proposed what I would consider simple solutions to a member of the senior leadership team. I didn’t expect immediate changes but I did not see any improvement and was never asked to elaborate on my feedback. I didn’t believe there would be meaningful change and I couldn’t successfully prioritize my personal obligations. This led me to find an amazing opportunity with another company where I haven’t experienced anything remotely close to what I experienced at Sage.

Pros

The product is great and the customers are some of the best. Budget is also never an issue.

Cons

This company that was once a humble startup has evolved into a gigantic toxic enterprise company. There has been a huge rush of departures, folks who have been with the company 10+ years leaving. Just take a look at the turnover. Management overworks their teams, setting unreal expectations showing how they are not dialed-in to what it's like to actually perform. All leadership does is dictate and then look at spreadsheets. It is very toxic.
