Pros

Intacct team at the San Jose office is amazing, smart, innovative and a true Silicon Valley’s child. There’s still some good folks there but most have already been cut out of the picture.

Cons

Management is the worst I have ever seen. From the top down, this UK company will do what it takes to support their own legacy company while cutting off Intacct employees who work so hard to put Intacct on the map. Intacct was thriving until Sage bought it, then they drove it to the ground, layoff and relocate the headquarter to Atlanta. They bought out the competition and basically killed the team and product. They layoff the Intacct team in different stages/ timeline to avoid the mandatory Cal-WARN, which is the state version of the federal WARN Act, is triggered by 50 or more layoffs of covered employees within a rolling 30-day window. The 60-day notice requirement also applies when the business is terminating operations or relocating its operations 100 miles or more away.

Pros

Before Sage purchased Intacct, the company had a great company culture. We were focused on customer satisfaction first, and growing revenues next. It was a pleasant environment, and I made friends with many of my colleagues.

Cons

Then we got bought, and the new leadership was 100% focused on increasing market share. They were aggressive , deceitful, and unfriendly, and I think they started to put a lot of pressure onto Intacct's original leadership because my boss, who was always pretty rude as a person, got even worse. He started treating me with a lot of disrespect. He not only undervalued me, but was nasty to me and he ridiculed, humiliated, scared, and honestly traumatized me. HR also did not handle the situation very well when I went to them. They are only there to protect the company's best interests and not the employees. I would not recommend working here or even buying their software just because of the leadership. It's not a company you can trust and some of the leadership are old school slave drivers.

Pros

- The team I work with has fantastic colleagues that I love working with and can look up to - Working with modern technologies is challenging and rewarding

Cons

- The organization structure is a mess and there is a disconnect between upper management and the engineers creating the products that fill those upper management pockets. - Upper management has no idea about any of the technologies used, their purposes, their limitations, or capabilities and expects engineers to create incredible solutions with limited funding and many constraints. - Engineering teams are on the backburner for both funding and acknowledgement. The company does not exist with the products and solutions we create but we never see any inkling of the profits generated nor thanks for the work we do. How can we expect to implement and try new techniques and technologies when we can't get proper funding to get training? - Communications between teams is chaos, there are some teams that are fantastic and will reply to you while partnering on a project. However, there are teams that are definitely dysfunctional, under-staffed, and managed improperly that cause constant delays and issues. - The recent layoffs were such a morale booster for the company, nothing like hearing your close coworkers randomly laid off in the middle of a Tuesday. We're so happy that we have to now take over the workloads of everyone you've gotten rid of and absolutely radiant about not being paid any extra for that. And now that all the talent is gone the company can hire new low level/associates to fill the positions for cheaper.
