Pros

Greasy pizza lunches on Fridays

Cons

Top management did not like the negative reviews they were getting on Glassdoor, so they are anonymously writing good reviews, and asking others to do the same. (Guess what? Employees talk. Word travels fast)! They are having massive layoffs, and all the while continue to give themselves hefty bonuses and increases. Disgusting!

Work-Life-Balance Oriented

Pros

The company very much values work-life balance for their employees, and you can see it in their employee benefits. SAGE Publishing is very much a family that believes in educating the world, and everyone that you work with is professional, kind, and will become your lifelong friend even after working there. The CEO is the kindest person you'll ever work with, and very much believes in the people he leads, and what he's doing.

Cons

Lack of transparency in what management does. News comes down on a need-to-know basis, and creates a sense of distrust and lack of understanding between employees and managers.

The insight we gather from feedback is imperative to the continued growth of the company, so we really appreciate you leaving a review. Our process is to promote internally as appropriate and seek external candidates when that makes the best business sense. We aim to provide opportunities for current employees to move up or transition to new roles for which they are qualified – it’s a balancing act we work very hard to achieve and are sorry to hear you feel we missed the mark.

Pros

Still lots of nice people and on the face of it they look after the staff

Cons

The company has lurched to a more corporate approach due to cash crisis and worries about plan S. also very cliquey, if you are in with the right people you can go far. If not, you've got no chance of promotion.
