Pros

Good annual bonus and company benefits. People are civil and there are a handful of very nice and hardworking individual

Cons

Management in Editorial is too young with no real people management experience. The environment is very cliquey The only way for career progression is if someone goes on maternity leave or if you work like a slave. Wanting to be great at your job is not enough to get rewarded, you have to constantly take on lots of stuff outside your normal work and work additional hours all the time to be considered for promotion. If you don't do that then good luck maybe you will get promoted in 10 years. My weekly one to one was my line manager asking the same generic questions from a form that she was given to. On top of that that was the only time she would interact with me the rest of the time she would avoid me and only say hello when there was people around and she was forced not to ignore me. There is no training whatsover in Editorial. I was left on my own devices to figure out how to do my job. No one talks to knew staffs and nobody care about welcoming them and wanting them to feel part of a team. Because management is young they don't know how to support staff or what to do when their staff is being bullied. They also don't know how to provide training but every time you ask for training in an area they would ask to ask some else or to organise that yourself. The Editorial department is the worst I've worked in. Felt isolated and not appreciated and was bullied at several occasions. All the other departments are fine. Just don't work there if you want to work in Editorial.

Pros

Nothing! I'd choose a zero or negative rating if possible. A one star is even too much for SAGE.

Cons

Shortsighted Don't appreciate employees Contract work out to India Say they are not-for-profit, but clearly cares about making a ton of profit (via eg. contracting work out to cheap labour and cutting valuable staff because they are cheap) Upper management are the sleaziest! This is by far the fakest company I have ever worked for! Don't believe a word they say. Everyone in academic publishing has told me they absolutely despise SAGE. Professors put up with them so they can get published, but no one has said one good thing about them.

Pros

The company provides work from home opportunity and also pays allowances for the same.. You get around 40 paid leaves a year and never need to work on the weekend.. Day shift, employee centric, friendly culture, decent pay (as per city standards), no work pressure, Global exposure, on the job trainings, etc, are some Pros of the company that you may consider before joining... Also there are very few good MNCs in Dehradun and SAGE is one of them so it is a nice choice if you are a resident and looking for a decent job in the city...

Cons

Poor management is the biggest Con of Dehraduj office.. The good ones left the organization and the ones who are left along with new managers are eating up the whole culture, which SAGE was once know for.. Using the same old and laggy softwares, no individual performance bonus, limited growth opportunities, average salary packages for highly qualified employees, India books division closed which resulted in mass layoff and bad social image, limited new learning opportunities, employee concerns are unheard and ignored when it comes to salary and promotion, etc are some major Cons you might considered before joining..
