Pros

Benefits, job security, the staff level people are magnificent and make it a great place to work.

Cons

Internal politics and feeling good about themselves has replaced decent business sense by senior leadership. Decisions that are made are not uniformly applied, totally reversed or just ignored at certain levels of the organization resulting in a very frustrating work environment.

Pros

The Importance of continuing education, benefits, opportunities for overtime, opportunity for advancement, scheduling ease, great orientation as long as needed

Cons

If you are not a fan of teaching hospitals, something to think about. There also were always one or two traveling nurses on the unit most of the time, which meant frequent orienting when you already have a busy load.
