      Pros

      Very flexible scheduling. Management is supporting of time off requests. Generally relaxed atmosphere.

      Cons

      These formats attract staff and clients that tend to be very judgmental and close minded. If you're super strong in your Christian faith and have no disagreements with the Republican party, you'll have a great time and find Salem a pleasing echo chamber. Otherwise, the programming and casual office conversation can be abrasive. Expect uninvited prayer and heavy conversations about abortion and 'the alphabet people'. Poor pay. After many years as a FT Salem employee, I still make just shy of the STARTING salary at other clusters in the market.

      Hypocritical with “core values”. Hidden agenda to hire and keep “ like minded”. Favoritism to an extreme affecting advancement and ultimately employment

      Enjoyable coworkers, free snacks, helpful local HR

      Cons

      low pay, long hours, skirting overtime requirements, passive aggressive managers, no upward mobility, no annual reviews, unprofessional treatment of younger employees, actual treatment of employees does not line up with values, poor communication, no training or continued education within your field
