Fantastic science done in the past. Some good PIs.

Cons

Since 4 years the worst place in San Diego area to do a post-doc or be a scientist. Highly political environment. Management has no respect and time for scientists that at the end of the day are under-paid and their work brings all the money to the institute.

Premier league of science. Seminar series is fantastic. Most beautiful location I will ever work at in my lifetime. Looks good on CV

Cons

Salary and living expenses (rent, daycare) are not compatible with each other. Nobody takes care of you, everybody is on his/her own and at the mercy of their supervisor. Family leave policies for foreign workers are abysmal.
