Great Retail Job

Pros

Great company overall. Not real, fast paced but there's enough to do in daily operations to keep you busy. If the store has the RIGHT manager, one's experience can be great! I knew very little about the beauty industry before i began employment, but within only 2 years, i had went from a part-time sales associate to store manager. I even had built enough of a positive relationship with so many of our regular customers, that they specifically asked for me when coming to the store. I absolutely LOVED my job.

Cons

It can be hectic. Every industry has it's demanding moments, a specialty retail store is no exception. Stores are responsible for doing their own planOguides for merchandise resets, so sometimes some serious lifting involved.

Work here to get experience only!

Pros

I had a great manager, which made the job bearable. Flexible and understanding. Good trainer. She was fair to all employees and conscientious. If you are in beauty school or just need some some extra money its okay. Employee discount was good.

Cons

Low pay. Everytime I was due for a raise the state raised the minimum wage and I got nothing extra! I was licensed and felt I gave away my experience, advice and knowledge for free. Got no commission or bonuses. The only incentive for store associates are to accumulate points to get free items on employee website. Point requirements were very high for most items. After two years of employment I got a scale, juicer, toaster, gardening item and $50 gift card! Hours stink! Open availability is expected and hours can fluctuate drastically. Job can be physically demanding.
