Pros
This is my first position in leadership on such a large scale, and I can honestly say I have felt extremely supported by my peers and the Senior Leadership Team. Samaritan has welcomed me with open arms and genuine gratitude, all while on boarding me smack in the middle of a global pandemic. I am so great full for the opportunity to work in an organization that values its leaders and their care teams. Career development and advancement is encouraged and the “grow your own” mentality has helped to retain team members for decades, paving the way for rookies in the organization to learn from the wealth of knowledge they can provide. If you are looking for an organization to call home, look no further!
Cons
Working within a health system with several outlying buildings and clinics can be challenging, however, communication and working together virtually has become the norm, and the system has adapted with the changing times. I personally feel as though this has helped to bridge the gaps and break down the silos we all often work in, however, this could be challenging for some.
