      Pros

      Traditional work culture of 9AM-6PM offic timings. There is fix time to come office but no time to go fro office. You may stay whole night if any emergency arises.

      Cons

      Be ready to face a lot of hik-ups coz Korean customers don't know how to communicate in english corre ctly

      A good place for a new graduate, but not a place for senior level engineer

      Pros

      There are a lot of applications to work for as a mechanical engineer. The workplace is very much dynamic, and there are many coworkers to learn from. Good food for employee.

      Cons

      The company requires too much hard work with little payment. Staff members are difficult to communicate, and they are like goverment employee. The project are selected and managed by the decision from the top executive members, resulting in a lot of sudden drop of project without any notices. Too much emphases on security make the employeee uncomfortable with entering and going out work places. Short term based evaluation system sometimes results in unfair evaluation.

      Samsung Electronics is good for novice engineers.

      Pros

      Good experience for novice engineers. If you recently graduated from University, then you have good opportunities to get the experience with real industry problems and challenges. Your area of expertise can grow quite fast and you can understand the basic principles about research management. The foreign employers are usually supported with housing, and the taxes in South Korea are reasonable. The Samsung is a famous brand, so usually, the experience in Samsung allows to find better job easier, and can be a good step to find a good position in different company.

      Cons

      Once you got your area of expertise, which is needed for your job (~1 year), the further knowledge growth is quite limited. It's hard to know the working environment because of language barriers. Lots of politics in relations (maybe the same for all big companies).
