Pay is a joke. Raises for top performers are 1%, this alone should have you running the other way before applying here. Corporate leadership are the most incompetent bunch of people I have ever seen in any workplace. They legitimately know less than a regular GEG associate. They only hire based on nepotism and who they know, and will only promote those who kiss up to them. Working conditions are horrific. They do not account for tech issues, so naturally when one happens (literally every 5 minutes because their IT team is from overseas and they pay them pennies) you are stuck with angry, drunk customers who threaten violence. A typical weekend involves calling security so you don’t get hurt. Unrealistic expectations and constantly lying to their employees is the sandbox way. They expect you to sell repeat experiences 20% of the time, how can that happen when you release MAYBE 1 new experience per year? News flash, no one wants to play Deadwood Valley 5 times! But wait, there’s more! Labor for this company is awful, worse than a skeleton crew. They expect you to cut employee shifts the day of if there’s not enough bookings for the day. So if you have a slower weekend, expect to cut your entire staff and tell them to go home unpaid. How does this work for retaining top talent? It doesn’t! They get angry, and find a different job that actually can afford to give them more than 10 hours a week (this is their average part-time weekly hours). It’s actually pathetic. This company let go almost all of their executive leadership last year because of their awful spending habits and horrible leadership. They let go of every single leader who actually could have made a difference. What about the horrible leaders that are driving the company into the ground? They’re untouchable because they’re best friends with top execs. Do not work here. It is not worth the stress and the way they treat you. The technology will never be up to par and everything breaks because it’s the most cheaply made (virtually and physically) equipment out there. Save yourself the stress, don’t do it.
