Calibration. They rank you against your peers and there can be only so many excellent reps. Follows a bell curve. Company is disorganized, they had layoffs two weeks after they hired me?! Why hire if they were having layoffs? Because they want to get rid of "dead weight". Which is stupid because instead if build a toxic culture of one upmanship and backstabbing and more concern over self-promotion then on selling. People who towed the company line and worked hard were laid off and the less intelligent and or less productive employees sailed through if they had an in with corporate. Granted this is definitely me painting with a broad stroke over my time at Santa fee, but constant layoffs and uncertainty does promote an unproductive toxic unhappy culture.
