Pros

Great benefits, great pay, they were really supportive during the Pandemic.

Cons

It's about who you know if you want to be promoted. Some department environments are toxic.

Pros

Decent pay if you're a director. Benefits are average. Good PTO. Nice and friendly people to work with. Free water and (horrible) coffee in the office. Many incompetent but highly paid people, have gotten laid off. I genuinely think executives and HR try to make the place a good place to work.

Cons

Commercial Banking is a revolving door of executives with no strategic vision to make the bank a better place. As a result there are constant layoffs (2-3 times a year), and executives are simply being "yes men" to keep their jobs. Management is constantly running around like flustered chickens without their head to keep up with a new "strategic vision" every few months. After working hard for the bank and putting in long hours, you will get laid off once the bank no longer needs you. Technology and processes here are a joke, full of incompetent people (there are a few exceptions). There have been initiatives to fix this for the past decade, yet nothing has changed. Tech consultants see our plight where we rely on them like life support, and have built their cash cow out of us. There are no career growth opportunities. You will work long hours and weekends and not get recognized for it. Tons of budget cuts and layoffs. Low morale. Too many people passing off work like a hot potato. .. The people are nice though.
