Pros

I get to play with trucks, trains, barges and all sorts of big machines. Well, actually I create software that helps better manage to movement of raw materials in all of those big machines. That is fun for me. The software development section of the IT department is fun. It is entrepreneurial and the company is growing fast. There are plenty of problems to solve and processes to automate. The company is willing to invest in your training and personal growth.

Cons

Because the company is growing so quickly, there may be some lack of structure here and there. There is some above average focus on dress code, but it is not a bad trade off for the opportunities that are available.

Pros

Excellent culture, focused on doing the right things to safely and reliably create value for customers while balancing company and employee needs. Savage cares about its people and about helping them grow and develop.

Cons

Still a very unstructured and flexible company, trying to grow up into a big company, so there are a lot of new policies coming out. Trying to find the right balance between standardizing without becoming bureaucratic.

Absolutely Dishonest

Pros

There was nothing good about it.

Cons

Decreased pay, increased responsibilities, endless rules and regulations to an intrusive and impossible extent, a boy's club hierarchy of complete imbeciles and if you are injured at work, they will string you along without medical until they find a reason to let you go.
