Pros

if you put in the time and are willing to follow the procedures you can go far with this company. they have an excellent safety program, what I like about savage is if you have a Better way to do a procedure or process, there is a program to implement them, not just do it there way.

Cons

can be at times a lot of time away from home, but they work really hard to minimize that, and creative ways to help you spend time with your family.

Great Place to Work for People Who Love to Work

Pros

Savage is a great place if you like challenges in the workplace. If you're willing to put in the effort, there is success and growth waiting for you. There are a lot of opportunities for growth in your career, especially if you're willing to relocate. It's not a place for people who lack a work ethic, but if you have a traditional work ethic, you will be welcomed and succeed. The company does its best to keep up core beliefs and tries to be honest. Savage will take a risk by promoting employees to roles of greater responsibilities. The company reinvests in itself and seeks growth. Effort is put into employee safety. Incentives/bonuses are available. You get the feel that company leadership does care on a personal level about employees. Leadership is looking for new paths for growth in a challenging economy, and has a good track record of finding it.

Cons

Benefits and compensation are not overly generous. Again, the company is conservatively run and strategic so this plays into that. There is a good bit of high-risk work. Work-life balance is difficult to achieve sometimes.
