Pros

Discounts on overpriced used items

Cons

Very similar to being in an abusive relationship, they work you so hard that you are too exhausted to look for a better job. They demand respect but don't respect their employees. When Big heads come to visit, it's a big fat lie. They wait til day of visit to push even harder to look good, but goes back the normal BS. Favoritism is high on their list. They believe the employees are stupid and not capable of researching California Laws for overtime. Working conditions are poor, wonder what OSHA would say?

Pros

The employee discount is the only saving grace.

Cons

The management team is extremely childish and unprofessional until our district manager appears. . A constant issue in the store is that the management team prefers to gossip about team members instead of talking to us and working with us to get what they want. Even when the managers know exactly what the issue is, they let things happen that negatively affect both our production and sales. The work environment is extremely hostile when it doesn't need to be.

Pros

The company used to focus on the team, with a firm belief in internal promotion. When I first started with the company there were 6 month and annual reviews that were at least at the cost of living. Teams tend to consist of long-term team members, often with people staying with the company for 5 years or more. Full-time team members are eligible for paid vacation, sick time, excellent and affordable health care, and a 401k. Part-time team members also receive some paid vacation and sick time. Team member discounts are fantastic too!

Cons

In the last 3 to 4 years the company has lost its focus on the team , as evidenced by the change in the review structure and stopping regular surveys of the team to determine areas of improvement. Savers bought another company and instituted a number of changes based on that company's culture, which were not necessarily to the benefit of the team. Upper management makes decisions regarding lower managements career path that are not in line with either the strengths of the person in question or their goals. They also promote from within, which allows them can underpay management by as much as 10k, depending on the market and level of experience.
