Pros

Full time, no other Pros about it. There's more cons than pros.

Cons

Not enough money earned by the hour. Managers are horrible, trainers not really attentive, nor did they know how to accurately price an item. I was let go after just two days of production, was told I was going "too slow" more than likely I was discriminated against because I am a Heavy Set Male. I was taken out of my department and put into a department I never worked before or had any experience in. The Production Manager was completely unsympathetic and told me straight to my face "It would be a waste of both our time to stretch this out over the next four weeks and see if you pick up speed, cause I don't see you picking up speed at all." Was told by everyone including managers not worry about my speed because it was the first week. Store has yet to open! Not once was I told that I was going "too slow" Also found it weird on the first day of production my co-worker and I had all the work in our department done by the end of the work day and everyone was staying late because they were not done. Also the trainer laid out the DVDs and CDs for the next day, I went through them and got them done in less than five minutes so how is that going slow? Earlier in the day we had watched a training video against discrimination in the company and yet I got released and was discriminated against for being fat. This company is evil. They expect way too much from their employees, they really should just have machines do the production work. They lied to me throughout the interview process, I constantly told them I wanted to be a cashier and they didn't even offer me a cashier position. Was completely unaware of what I was hired for. Production manager called me a liar saying that I knew exactly what I was being hired for which is not true considering on the first day, 95% of the team members had no idea what they were hired for. These people are liars and unprofessional. They set too high standards that nearly impossible to meet and instead of working with employees who are "struggling" and give them coaching like they promised, they just immediately release you.

Pros

The employee discount is very generous, as is the chance to work in a really cool thrift environment.

Cons

Managers tell you that they will give you all the tools to succeed but set you up for failure instead

Pros

Some good employees but they aren't living up to their full potential. There do seem to be career opportunities if you're willing to play the game.

Cons

From the moment I walked in, I was put to work. No team welcome, lunch, or anything. That should have been my first sign of a poorly managed work place that doesn't care about their employees. There's definitely a poor work-life balance as I was forced to choose between family and pay while dealing with passive-aggressive micro-management. This is what I would imagined working for Wal-Mart would be like but what would you expect based off a corporate business model that profits off of other's castaways. There's definitely a lot of smoke and mirrors while you're being recruited. They do provide benefits...3 FULL months after working there and until then you're not considered a human being. In the end, I'm almost positive they broke employment laws but I just wanted out. Don't worry about exit interviews because they simply don't care.
