Strong, Supportive & Mature SRE Leadership in India
Pros
I’ve had a very positive experience working under the new SRE leadership in the India region. The leadership team demonstrates a high level of maturity and transparency in decision-making. There is a clear focus on reliability, ownership, and long-term platform improvements rather than short-term firefighting. The new SRE leadership in the India region has brought clarity, structure, and accountability to the team. There is a strong emphasis on automation, reducing operational toil, and improving platform maturity. What I appreciate most is the freedom given to engineers to innovate and suggest improvements. Leadership encourages proactive problem-solving rather than reactive firefighting. Decisions are well thought-out and aligned with long-term goals. The team culture is supportive, collaborative, and focused on continuous improvement. There is genuine encouragement for professional growth and ownership.
Cons
The team is still in a phase of transformation, so some processes and standards are evolving. This occasionally means changes take time to fully stabilize, but leadership is transparent about the direction and open to feedback. There is a strong emphasis on ownership and accountability, which can feel demanding at times. However, this also pushes the team toward higher engineering standards and long-term improvements.
