Pros

Director made it a fun atmosphere, and still held the staff to a high standard. As a Salaried employee, had flexibility with schedule. It was like a little family.

Cons

Because it is only a regional office, there was not much opportunity for growth, unless one wanted to move to Vegas where the corporate HQs is located.

Pros

Well established company in the Gaming and Lottery industry. Position for significant growth with the recent acquisitions and new CEO. Some opportunities for cross training and lateral moves with the business divisions.

Cons

Recently had a reduction in force (me included), which is good for the company's stock, not so much for employees.

Pros

Convenience to Alpharetta and Cumming

Cons

By far the worst company I have ever worked for... you will dedicate yourself to "the cause" however there is no loyalty from the company. No work life balance. Doesn't have the right leadership in place for a larger company. SG was recently tasked by the new CEO to save $65MM before the end of the year, which was done with open headcount and current employees; however there was no good reasoning to how employees were selected. There are constant waves of layoffs because of the financial instability. Top performers were released while problem children stayed employed... it's very much about who you know or the line of business you fall within. You'll go in hopeful, but end up completely miserable. Benefits are no where near competitive, and they'll low ball on salary hoping to bring you up to market value during merit; however that doesn't happen. It's also a sad environment. If you are someone that takes pride in your work or appearance, then this is not the company for you. Millennials beware... they aren't ready for that type of creative mindset, and there's no work life balance. Do research on the new CEO... he was let go and brought on with SG while being unemployed. He received a huge package from his last employer and then came in and cut everyone's jobs. They will advertise how he was on Undercover Boss; however it was less than impressive. Also, check public records. SG recently cut jobs but also purchased another company. Doesn't seem like the Board is concerned with those doing the work.
