Pros

- Top talent in the trenches - Fun tech to work with, great problem space - Focus on being productive, not many barriers for those who are motivated - Paid well

Cons

- Amazingly incompetent people made it into upper management - After two acquisitions much of the original WMS family feel is gone - Looks like the party has moved to Vegas where they know best - Chicago campus is on top of the deep tunnel, when it rains hard it stinks bad

Lots more work to do integrating.

Pros

I'm only here because I'm dedicated to helping my manager and other managers figure out in which of 6 systems they might be able to cobble together what their costs are. If you are up for a challenge, sure come to SG.

Cons

We are not integrated. The segment reporting has created silos between Corporate, Gaming, and Lottery. No one is on the same page. I almost spit up my coffee when I read this line in an e-mail " now that the heavy lifting of integration is behind us". If by "behind us" you mean really getting ugly because we're given no corporate guidance, sure. All people seem to care about is making the bonus amount for their division. We are not one company, and will not be until the bonus structure is about the whole company only.

Opportunity is yours to take!

Pros

If you want to grow, the opportunity is there! More than "just a job", truly a career. Growth and excitement about recent mergers for our one combined company.

Cons

Change is hard...with mergers, etc there is a lot of work to be done. People get discouraged because things are "changing" for their legacy company, but need to keep the "go forward company in site. With lots of work, employee morale goes down at times but the management staff continue to do little things to show they care.
