Pros

The fitness center and free classes were awesome.

Cons

Terrible benefits: 401K matching very low, insurance premiums very high, PTO average, dental coverage less than average. No bonuses are ever given. EVER. A meager raise (maybe) annually. Strange relationships fraught with tension within the family (husband, wife, two daughters and a son in law - the people running this place). This trickles down into the overall atmosphere of the company. Account management's job is to clean up the mess of the over promised, under delivered mess that leaves customers angry, disappointed, and frustrated. Management blames Account Management for unhappy customers rather than admitting there is an issue with the overpriced antiquated system they sell.

Pros

Co-workers are great to work with. Benefits are pretty good, except for the 401k plan.

Cons

Family owned company...if you think outside the box and are in a higher position you are pushed out. You are expected to be "on" all the time. No room for promotions.

Pros

Health facilities and fitness classes are awesome. Pretty rare to find a company that will pay Boxing, MMA, Yoga, Zumba and other trainers just for their employees benefit. Lots of opportunity for growth in the company for those that apply themselves. Management really seems to care about the people who work here. Above average performance is rewarded and recognized. Customer Service is a huge focus of the company. A lot of great people to work with. The company is always trying to improve.

Cons

Benefits program needs an overhaul. 401k match needs improvement and medical costs are too high to be competitive. It would be nice to have vision care. There needs to be a bonus program of some kind. Environment needs to have a little more fun. All work and no play… Because of the size of the company, growth opportunities are much more difficult as there are few senior positions available. This makes for a lot of competition for a few roles. Sometimes too many things change at once. Pay range seems a little low for the Healthcare IT market. It can take a while before you start to make a competitive salary.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Pros

Salary not too bad if you can stand all the Cons!

Cons

Benefits are not good Family run so its all about the family right! Customer Service and Technical customer service jobs are run like a sweat shop with horrible managers who manage by fear and intimidation. They fire people they don't like personally for any reason they can find. Turn over is high for these reasons as well. Many fired but also many leave because of pour family run business. Product is not bad but they treat employees like dirt. They switch schedules on people with less than days notice if ya can't conform you are fired. Play favorites big time and not for the right reasons. People who get more training or more clearance are rewarded with tons more work because they refuse to train enough people or get enough clearance for others. I BET TURNOVER IS AT LEAST 50 PECENT PER YEAR FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND TECHNICAL SERVICE

Pros

I was offered extensive training and my coworkers were always willing to help me as I learned the job.

Cons

Health benefits were double the amount of my previous employer, and the specifics weren't disclosed until my first day. When I asked the HR rep about the health care costs, she told me "that will all be covered during orientation." After being in the position for seven months, the company went through restructuring and my position was eliminated. I left my previous employer (I job that I loved) because I saw the position at SP as a form of career progression. I understand that business is business, but it just doesn't make sense to hire people, train them and lay them off seven months later.

Pros

Ok pay if you have a degree, nice career path opportunities if you manage to stay with the company long.

Cons

Family owned so nepotism is common, cliquishness between departments is an issue. Departments run by family members are shown favoritism. Benefits are ok, no vision insurance, life insurance is difficult to get if you have any kind of health issues. Undegreed people doing the exact same job as degreed people make about $5 an hour less. Management is not very flexible, lower management is sometimes clueless, turnover is high.

It's a job

Pros

My team is the reason I come to work. There are a lot of good people here, and I've been able to learn a lot from many of them. There's also a limited amount of flex-time available, particularly for software types; it's nice to be able to work from home once in a while.

Cons

There ARE people at this company who care about the product and about quality. Unfortunately, they aren't the ones who make policy and budget decisions. Because of the shortsighted penny-pinching attitude of some of the family, we are forced to support hardware configurations which are nearly as old as I am. The family has a lock on all the upper management jobs, and to be fair there are a couple of them who are not completely inept. They do all suffer from the delusion that the people who work for them can do anything with nothing and need no more reward than a couple of parties per year. Benefits are mediocre, the holiday and leave schedule is worse, and pay increases don't even keep up with the cost of living. Enjoy your first-year salary; it only goes down from there.

Pros

Average benefits if you don't mind paying for them

Cons

Input is frowned upon by the insecure management. Put in your time and go home.
