      Healthcare Security Officer contracted for Kaiser Hospitals

      Pros

      Pay for workload is decent. Literally, the contract agreement is to provide uniformed security presence, no "hands on" work is essentially ever required

      Cons

      Management will lie, backpedal, deceive, and be deviant at every level at any opportunity. Guards are just names on a schedule roster and expendable if you don't disown any family or personal life to work at anytime needed, with little or no notice; even if there is a created and publically displayed "set work schedule". Regardless of what image may be portrayed, there is no structure, organization, clear and open communication. It is literally a circus which expects you to be the dancing monkey.

      A lot of opportunity for advancement, if you apply yourself and if you have a good relationship with upper management (branch managers and area vp)

      Cons

      The pay is very low. I know it's based on the contracts, and my current position I've dealt with all of that. But still some contracts need to be let go if you're going to pay officers 8 per hour to do dangerous work

      No wiggle room in getting paid for experience. Every one starts same rate and end same rate from police experience to nothing.
